Port Mallillin was a student of Performing Arts and Popular Music in West London college in the late 90's. He was a drummer to a punk rock trio band called All You Can Eat. In the following year, Port Mallillin co-founded a group called Fusing Naked (later renamed as Fusing Naked Beats), in which he evolved as a lyricist, lending rap verses to its debut album entitled ''Stolen Generation'' in 2004. Fusing Naked Beats was nominated for "The Best Alternative Act 2008" and "The Best Underground Act 2009" respectively in the UK Asian Music Awards. Thereafter, Side Projects was born.
Side Projects is also a pop/rock band and has toured the UK in variety of musical events and had the opportunities to share the same stage with the likes of Hotdog, Siakol, 4th Impact, The Youth, Charice Pempengco, Kim Idol, and 70's Superband.
Port has inherited some of his knack in writing music from his father Jun Mallillin who was the composer of "Dahil Mahal Kita" of The Boyfriends. Port has written and composed the theme music Sa Paglalakbay which was recorded by Side Projects for TFC tv series Juan EU Konek (Winner of the "Best TV Magazine Program 2014 & 2015" at the Media Advocate & Migration Awards and finalist at the Catholic Mass Media Awards for the "Best News Magazine 2015") and the jingle Tingala't Magkaisa for its Halalan 2016 special. He also wrote "If Ever" which was sung by Gia Macuja (Lion King, Here Lies Love, Miss Saigon and West End Mamas), Cherry Valencia's "Kahati Mo Ako" and "Without You", "Naaalala Ka" interpreted by Joel Miranda, and "Siya o Ako" for the renowned Manila Sound group - The Boyfriends. All of which are available to stream and download via iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and up to 200 digital stores worldwide under Side Projects Productions independent record label.
